Policies

To ensure successful administration of student test accommodations and provision of an accessible and supportive testing environment, Testing Services implements the following policies for exams proctored at our office:

  • Students are responsible for submitting exam appointment requests with Testing Services through the ANU Student Portal at least 1 week prior to the testing date.
  • Exams should be scheduled during the class testing time and within Testing Services’ proctoring hours.
    • If students are unable to schedule their exam during the class testing time due to a class scheduling conflict or during Testing Services’ proctoring hours, students and instructors should agree upon an alternative date/time and email that agreement to Testing Services for verification.
    • Testing Services can provide coordination support for exam appointment scheduling as needed.
  • Late exam appointment requests are proctoring requests for exams that are less than 1 week away from when the request is submitted. Late exam requests are considered on a case-by-case basis depending on space and staffing availability. Submit late exam requests to Testing Services via email.
  • Some professors may choose to give students “unlimited time” on an exam, in which a student has as much time as needed to complete the exam. Testing Services is committed to providing a similar test-taking experience to that in the classroom. However, to maintain academic integrity and due to timing and staffing constraints, Testing Services is unable to proctor exams with unlimited time that would extend beyond our proctoring hours. If a professor would still like to use Testing Services to proctor their “unlimited time” exam, students must complete the exam within our proctoring hours.
  • Students should arrive on time for their exam. Testing Services allows students a 10-minute grace period for starting their exam. After the 10-minute grace period ends, students have until their scheduled accommodated exam end time to complete their exam.
  • Cell phones, smart watches, tablets, computers, and other personal items are not allowed in the testing rooms. Students are encouraged to leave these items at home. If the student brings these items with them, they should arrive 5-10 minutes early to secure their belongings in a Testing Services locker.
  • Students are expected to abide by 色控传媒’s academic integrity policy and code of conduct found in the Student Handbook.
  • While an exam is in progress, students are allowed to leave the testing room only to use the restroom or ask a question about the exam. Unless needed to ask a question at the Testing Services Check-In Desk, all exam materials must remain visible in the testing room for the duration of the exam appointment.
  • Testing Services utilizes in-person proctoring and camera monitoring to proctor exams taken in our testing spaces. Testing Services records the testing rooms via the camera monitoring system for academic integrity purposes. All recorded footage of Testing Services facilities is stored securely and is automatically overwritten throughout the academic term.
